Dr Sarah Atkinson
BSc, PGCE, MSc, PhD
Educational Psychologist
I have over 20 years’ experience working as a Local Authority Educational Psychologist (EP) and more recently as a private EP.
I am based in the East Midlands and work with early years settings, schools, colleges and universities both locally and online across the UK.
During this time, I worked in a range of areas including:
Inclusive educational practice
Transfer and transition across pupil’s educational career
Peer mentoring projects/programmes
Raising the achievement and participation of Children in Care
Applied Behavioural Analysis within educational settings
Alongside my EP role, I worked for the University of Nottingham as an Academic and Professional Tutor delivering initial training competences in the following areas:
Generic study and scholarship associated with tutor role
Convenor of training modules on the Doctorate of Applied Educational Psychology programme
Convenor of 3rd year Undergraduate Module in Educational Psychology
Promoting Emotional Well Being in Schools
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Research supervision
Problem-solving in situations where people feel stuck
